The Perfect Strawberry Pie Recipe

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 package (3 ounces) strawberry gelatin
  • 1 pre-baked pie crust
  • Whipped cream, for topping (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a saucepan, combine the sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Gradually stir in the water. Cook over medium heat, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens and boils. Boil and stir for an additional 2 minutes.
  2. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the strawberry gelatin until completely dissolved.
  3. Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then gently fold in the sliced strawberries.
  4. Pour the strawberry filling into the pre-baked pie crust and refrigerate for at least 3-4 hours, or until set.
  5. Once the pie is set, top with whipped cream if desired, and serve chilled.
